Synopsis
Your position or where you are positioned influences everything about you in life. By position we mean a geographical location, a stand, a viewpoint, or an advantage point.
For one, where you are situated or established impacts your disposition. The wealthy‘s (a form of position) disposition to the monetary value of an item tends to be different than the economically insecure’s . Whereas the latter may be more concerned about “how much” the former tends to be more concerned about “how many”.
Where you are planted or positioned also influences your derivation. Psalm 1:3 says for instance “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” The reason the tree “bringeth forth his fruit in due season” is because it is “planted by the rivers of water.”
When President Obama was Citizen Obama he didn’t enjoy such tax payer funded privilege as a retinue of aides and security detail. Because of his position now he’s entitled to the privilege. The same goes for the salaries of CEO’s of large corporations. When they were entry level, they were paid entry level wages. Essentially then, your position determines what you are allocated.
You association equally tends to be impacted by your position. CEO’s tend to have CEO friends, kings associate with other kings and the poor tend to associate together. When Joseph was a prisoner he associated with prisoners but once he became the Prime Minister in Egypt, his association changed. No longer was the prison and Joseph commingled.
Whether or not you’re divinely protected is also dependent on where you’re positioned! Psalm 91:1 makes that clear: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” You have to make “the secret place of the Most High” your dwelling to “abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
Having seen from copious examples that your position determines what you get from life, the question becomes: what position must you be to experience the new?
The first thing to note is that the prophecy of “My Year of the New” by itself wouldn’t grant you the new. You must desire a better position. You must believe that life will do away with the old of challenges and inadequacies and know that you’d get the best from life.
2 Cor. 5:17 reveals what should follow: “17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
In case you didn’t notice “if any man be in Christ” refers to a position. You have to be positioned in Christ for old things to pass away and for all things to become new. The prophecy “My Year of the New” will only be true for you if you’re positioned in Christ.
If you’ve never received Christ, make it your priority to receive Him now; if you had but you’re unsure of your status in Him, here’s an opportunity to reconnect to Him and restore your relationship. It would be foolhardy to expect the new promised by Christ if you don’t belong to Him!
Have a blessed week in His presence!
