Ever stopped to wonder why there was need for man on earth? What’s the reason for the creation of man? Why were you created? Was it so you could dream big dreams or so you could stay in your corner of the world? Was it so you could live a successful life or so you could populate the earth?

The primary reason for our creation is to serve God. You and I were created for service.

We need to get this, and have it at the core of everything we do. We need to defiantly stick to serving God whatever may come our way. Joshua expressed this defiance in service to God in Joshua 24:15:

And if it seems evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD

Three things to note about service

1. Man was created to serve God. To Gen 1:26 we turn:

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

2. I serve anyone I worship by choice. And my worship is not completed until I start to serve God Matt: 4:8-10

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

And saith unto him, all these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Then saith Jesus unto him, get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

3. I am delivered because of service (Ex. 4:20-23; 8:1; 9:1)

And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.

And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

As you go in the new week, bear in mind the primary reason for your creation and let service to God guide your every action.

God be with you and may He make His face to shine upon you. Have a blessed week!
