Sermon synopsis
We can secure a glorious year by giving God a glorious praise in 2010! When you make His praise glorious, God will make your year glorious. Simple!

As you know, the first Sunday of the year is dedicated to thanksgiving in all Redeemed Christian Church of God parishes worldwide. Add to that the fact in Strong Tower Parish we are in the year God had said He would give us beauty and glory. You and I owe God all our praise and thanksgiving.

Praise is not only a means of exalting and edifying God, it’s a powerful key to God’s treasure warehouse. And it shouldn’t be difficult to see why. As important as prayer is, it best serves the interest of the one praying. You are asking God to meet your needs, when you pray. However, praising positions you to meet God’s needs.

That’s why John 4:24 says God is on the look out for those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Psalm. 66:1-3 exhorts us:

Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious. Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.

This passage gives some clue on how to praise God. It should not just be any praise but a “joyful noise”. We should offer praise that is heartfelt. And you know joy is a state of mind.

Proverbs. 17:22 says, “a merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”

When you’re joyfully, your spirit is lifted and you can offer God quality praise. You praise God in such a way that He comes in search of more of your praises and of course you.

In 2nd Chronicles. Solomon praised God in such a special joyful way that God came looking for him at night. When God came, He asked Solomon for what he wanted and then gave him above and beyond what he requested.

Saints, when you make God’s praise glorious, God will make your life glorious. Commit to offering Him quality praise throughout 2010 and see how He’ll show up for you.

Happy glorious New Year to you and all yours in Jesus name.
