From The Pastor’s Heart: November, Month of Unlimited Abundance

Pastor Olowokere
Thanksgiving is here and Christmas I could almost touch. I still clearly remember how much fear and uncertainty gripped the nation from late last year into this year: the economy at a free fall, Wall Street was crumbling, and Main Street panicking. It looked like we’d all be submerged by the economic Tsunami by now; but in the midst of all that, God’s word to us for this year was: “Our Year of Unlimited Joy.” And indeed it’s been our year of unlimited joy.
First, He’s given us the greatest gift which is that of life. This is the gift that must be in place in order to aspire to any other. Not only that, He has prospered His church and people. He has made us satisfied in a time of famine. Only a God like Him is worthy of our praise. Join me sing “Hallelujah, Hosanna” to our Great King.
Nothing compares to worshipping God. God testified of David as a man after His heart. It wasn’t for nothing. David knew the way to God’s heart. In (Ps 27:4) David said “One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.” What a wise man! He understood God enough to know not to make his needs or requests first but first to behold His beauty or adore God. Wouldn’t you also call the one who adores you like David did God “a man after my heart”? Reminds me of one of our daughters who came to our room the other day and said she just came to check on me. Sensing deception, I asked her “are you sure that’s all you came to do?” her response was in the affirmative. So we were together; after a while and not totally unexpected she went “daddy do you have candy or cookie in your cabinet?” She was David smart! Let your first motivation be to seek God and to exalt and worship Him. And see what reward will accrue to you.
That said, I welcome you to the month of November. The month God has called “Our Month of Unlimited Abundance.” What does this mean? Stay with me please.
There are stages to faith. You acquire faith by hearing; this is the first stage. After that, you receive it. You then are persuaded by it and you embrace it. Finally, because you have embraced it, you now confess it. You may be wondering what this has got to do with our Month of Unlimited Abundance. Simple! God has sent His word to us, and you’ve heard it, you must, regardless of your state or situation, then receive, be persuaded by and embrace it. And you must finally confess the word of prophecy. Even God made the world by confession. The Bible says repeatedly about God in the first chapter of Genesis “And God said…” Heb.11: 3 support this “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” If you must possess this prophecy, you must confess it! C’mon shout “November is my Month of Unlimited Abundance!”
I understand this might sound fantastic. “Unlimited Abundance? Quit playing” I could almost hear someone say. But the truth is: that is what God has planned for us in this month. It matters not how fantastic or incredible it sounds. In 1kgs.18: 41 Elijah said unto Ahab “Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.” This was after many years of drought in the land. Do you know how unrealistic that sounded? When Jesus told the sisters of Lazarus that their dead brother would rise again, do you know how fantastic that sounded? How about the case of that lord on whose hand the king leaned. In 2Kgs.7: 1 Elisha had told the gathering about the overnight abundance that was coming to the gate of Samaria but because the land was desolate and in famine, the lord couldn’t fathom how that was possible. And he told the man of God so. He was in essence limiting God to man’s comprehension! Look not at your state. Because you have toiled all night doesn’t mean breakthrough won’t come in the morning. Go ask Peter (Lk.5). Because darkness is all you see now doesn’t mean light won’t show up in the morning. The point is not what or where you are, it is who has said it. Because God has said it, November indeed would be our Month of Unlimited Abundance.
I doubt this prophecy could have come at a better time. A time when all around seems to be lack, depletion, and scarcity. But as people of understanding we know this is when God shows up to prove Himself strong. Think about it, anybody can promise you Abundance when everything around is A-OK; the economy booming and people in prosperity, but only God can promise and make it happen in treacherous times as this.
In (2 kgs.4: 1-7) a widow of one of the sons of the prophet turned from financial lack to abundance as a result of divine instruction. Her case brings to the fore some salient points to note in order to benefit from Divine Abundance.
- Christians/Believers are not exempt from lack if not positioned for abundance
- Never let your problem make you conclude there’s nothing good about you
- Never borrow what you’ll consume, but what you’ll invest and what increases you
- Learn how to keep your private matters confidential. Not all seek your good
- Ask for divine instruction from your spiritual leaders
- Your abundance should first be channeled toward paying your debt.
Additionally, an advantage of prophecy is that it helps you know what to believe God for. That way, if or when anything contrary shows up, you know you’re not to take it seriously. You just wave it off. You also need to understand that abundance comes in many dimensions or types. For instance Hannah had abundance of complaints. Therefore, you would do well to be specific in requesting abundance. Let’s take a look at six types of abundance.
- Abundance of riches. These are riches that do not come by labor or effort but divine provision (2 Chron.20: 22-25; Isa.60: 1-5; Zech.14:13-14). In fact, the Bible encourages us not to labor for riches! “Labor not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom” (Provbs.23: 4) exhorts. Since the “blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it” (Pro 10:22).
- Abundance of increase is another type. (Exo.1: 5-7) “And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already. And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation. And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.”
- Abundance of peace (Ps 37:11; 72:5-7; Jer. 33:4-6). Some have peace in one area but not another. For instance financial peace but not health. You need to ask God for abundance of peace in all areas.
- Abundance of grace (Rom. 5:14-17; John 10:10, Is 55:7). Grace can also be given in abundance.
- Spiritual abundance (Ps 36:8; 2 Cor. 12:6-9). One can also have spiritual abundance. Apostle Paul exemplifies this.
- Abundance of Spirit (John 7:37-39). The Spirit can also be poured upon a man abundantly.
You must also note that there are requirements to connect with Unlimited Abundance.
- You must believe. Luke 1:45 says “And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.”
- You must pray down your abundance. Elijah prayed down the abundance of rain in (1kgs.18:41-45) And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down that the rain stop thee not. And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
Dearly beloved, you have heard the word of God that November is Our Month of Unlimited Abundance. My prayer is that you will receive it, be persuaded by it, embrace it and then confess the word. I pray that your drought will be turned to Unlimited Abundance in the name of Jesus Christ. And may proofs and evidences of your unlimited abundance be manifest for all to see. And may He give you the abundance of every good thing that makes for life and godliness in the name of Jesus Christ.
Have a blessed month.
Yours in this Divine Appointment,
Pastor Emmanuel. S. Olowokere
